About Breakthrough Cincinnati

History

Bill Hopple, Jr. and Odessa Hooker founded Breakthrough Cincinnati as Summerbridge Cincinnati in 1992. Over the years, summer program sites have been hosted by the Cincinnati Country Day School, The Seven Hills School, and St. Xavier High School. Breakthrough Cincinnati currently operates two sites in Greater Cincinnati, one at Cincinnati Country Day and one at The University of Cincinnati. Over it's 25-year history, Breakthrough Cincinnati has impacted thousands of Cincinnati youth through its one-of-a-kind summer learning experience. 


National Affiliation

Breakthrough Cincinnati is a member of the Breakthrough Collaborative, a national organization that started in San Francisco in 1978 to address inequities in education. Today, the Collaborative is composed of 25 affiliated sites located throughout the United States. For more information, click here.
