Bearcats Academy is a University of Cincinnati multi-year mentoring program in partnership with Cincinnati Public Schools that serves students from Aiken, Hughes, and Taft by pairing students from underrepresented communities with undergraduate mentors.


Involve minority students traditionally underrepresented in biomedical careers in cutting‐edge scientific research conducted in an academic medical center to stimulate their interest in pursuing biomedical research careers.


Open to the community’s youth, who are invited in to enrich their lives with Club membership, exceptional staff and volunteers, high-quality services and innovative programs, all at no cost. Every day, students do the things in this “home away from home” that will ultimately make a difference in their lives.


Cincinnati Youth Collaborative strives for dropout prevention by offering mentoring, college readiness and success, and career preparation.


The Academy provides free, year-round baseball and softball training programs for kids ages 5 to 18 while integrating programs that encourage academic achievement and emphasize good character development.


Seeks to increase the number of African-American, Latinx, and Native American students in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) while helping students achieve excellence in college and beyond. The program includes several pre-college outreach programs, as well as campus-wide recruitment and retention activities.


A neighborhood-based resource center for schools, students and their families, and the community. The after-school program serves Bond Hill Academy of Math and Science Discovery, Carson School, Hays-Porter School and Withrow University High School.


Provides academic support to help students achieve in the classroom, grow as individuals and citizens of the community, graduate from high school and enter and complete a college education.


To stimulate outstanding interest in pursuing biomedical careers by allowing students to meet and learn first-hand about the work of doctors, scientists and allied health professionals who are finding new treatments and cures for childhood diseases and improving the outcomes for children today.



Graduating high school seniors can learn more about careers in medicine and clinical research in this paid, part-time position.


Upward Bound is located at the University of Cincinnati. This program is for grades 8-12 and operates on Saturdays and daily in the summer. The program focuses on academic achievement, cultural exposure, and life success for all eligible students, regardless of their racial or socioeconomic backgrounds.


The YMCA Achievers program is a college readiness and career exploration program which provides teens with the essential tools to pursue higher education and to identify different career opportunities.


The Ohio State University Office of Diversity and Inclusion Young Scholars Program (YSP) is a comprehensive pre-collegiate and collegiate program designed to enhance the academic, personal, and career development of its Scholars.
