A Day in the Life of a summer Breakthrough Teacher:
7:00: Wake up, get out of bed, drag a comb across your head
7:30: Arrive at Breakthrough
7:35: Set up classroom for the day
7:45: Help team set up breakfast for students
8:00: SING good morning to the students as they arrive
8:15 - 8:30: Check in with students as they enjoy a healthy breakfast before the day begins!
8:40 - 9:30: Teach 1st bell
9:35 - 10:25: Free bell: work on next week's lesson plans
10:25 - 10:45: All School Meeting (like a huge daily pep assembly).
10: 50 - 11:40: Free bell: Help where needed (event planning, making copies, assisting in the office)
11: 45 - 12:35: Teach 4th bell
12:40 - 1:00: Yummy lunch with students in the dining terrace.
1:00 - 1:15: Recess
1:20 - 1:40: Advisory time. Go over study skills and talk about peer pressure.
1:45 - 2:25: Co-teach foreign language class (French, Spanish or Latin)
2:30 - 3:10: Mini-course class time (swimming, soccer, acting, and lots more to choose from!)
3:15: Dismissal: SING goodbye song to the students as they board the buses to go home
3:30 - 3:50: Full Faculty meeting
3:55 - 4:15: Meet in teams to discuss student progress and re-decorate hallways for Visitor's Day.
4:20 - 4:45: Work on lesson for tomorrow and setting up classroom for next day.
5:00: Head home, get some sleep and get ready to do it again!
